Synopsis:

Carrie is a 37 year old woman with a wonderful partner, a  successful, satisfying career, and a baby on the way. A recently completed award winning archectural design and the impending birth cause Carrie to look back to the beginning of her adult life and a decision she faced that could have changed her future forever.
19 year old Carrie is a college sophomore with a prestigious scholarship to study architecture in Italy in the fall. She meets a cute boy, Ted, and they start to date. Things couldn't be better.
When Carrie decides she is ready to have sex with Ted, her roommate, Jasmine, encourages her to use a condom, but Carrie is too embarrassed to suggest it. Ted never broaches the issue, either. When Jasmine finds out Carrie is having unprotected sex, she insists Carrie head to Planned Parenthood to get birth control pills. She agrees, only now it is too late. The doctor informs her that she is already pregnant.
Carrie has choices and she considers each one. She talks to Ted, who wants to keep the baby but has no ability to support it. She talks to Jasmine, who shares her perspective as an adopted child. She goes to her university dean, who tells her it’s now or never for the overseas scholarship. She asks a minister, who gently reminds her of the church’s hopes. Finally, unable to face her parents, she turns to her grandma, who  tells her she's gotten herself into an adult situation, she needs to start acting like one.
After weighing each option and searching her heart and mind, having an abortion seems the right alternative for Carrie. She makes the appointment and tells Ted. He cannot reconcile her choice with his beliefs and the relationship ends.
Finally, audiences are brought back to the older Carrie, her contractions have accelerated,  and she has her loving husband by her side. Her life is unfolding as it was meant to be, for her, because she made the right choice earlier in life. In the end, Carrie’s decision is not so much pro-abortion as it is pro-choice, in the true sense of the term.
