Synopsis:
Synopsis: 27 years ago Ben’s twin brother drowned during a fight - an accident his father, John, blamed him for. Now estranged, Ben returns with his boyfriend, Addi, to the family summer cabin in Provence to scatter John’s ashes on that same lake. As Ben watches the ashes float away, he listens to a message his father left the night he died. Hateful words spew out. Shattered, he drops the phone and lunges to keep it from falling in the lake. Addi catches the phone, but Ben goes in. Sopping wet, they return to the cabin to start their own memories.
That afternoon during a stroll in Lourmarin, Ben is about to propose, when Addi receives an urgent call that his mother is acting erratically. Concerned, Addi takes the car and rushes to Paris to assess the situation.
On his own, Ben realizes his phone battery has died and he can’t find the charger. Which becomes an increasingly desperate situation as his sense of reality begins to slip. Unbeknownst to Ben the lake, along with other French waterways, is contaminated with weaponized prions that eat away the brain causing wild hallucinations.
The cabin, filled with memories and secrets, becomes a battleground for Ben's sanity as he grapples with his father’s destructive legacy and his own inner demons. As hours slip away, with no contact with the outside world, time and place lose definition, the cabin grows sinister and Ben’s increasingly fractured reality conjures the manifestation of his guilt - his dead brother - who comes out of Ben’s mind with revenge in his water-logged heart.
